About

Hi. I’m Sara.

I’m a 28-year-old Maine-raised New York City resident. I spent a year in Sydney, briefly flirted with moving to Providence, and am now in Brooklyn. I have a laundry list of additional adjectives. I am planning many adventures.

I keep a public blog (on general things) and a private blog (on personal and erotic things). I use Twitter, create art, take photographs, work, and write.

Specifically, I write magical-realist fiction, poetry, and semi-serious fictocriticism. I make digital images, jewelry, clothes and paintings. I work as a freelance writer, marketer and organizer, currently with a digital firm for art museums and public spaces, an advisory and banking firm that consults for technology start-ups, and a few small ventures of my own making.

I am in love with a 26-year-old journeyman machinist and rigger who has recently made me ridiculously happy by moving to Brooklyn with me from Providence. I do my best to advise on the new venture in his life, still in stealth mode but involving a small group of talented people who enjoy alcohol. I date other people too, across all genders.

I’m interested in many things. For example: story telling and narrative in both traditional and new medias; the intersection of creativity and business; the relative color possibilities of silkscreen and oil paint; erotica and sexual culture; fashion as a visual mode of communication; the crossovers of science fiction and renaissance faires; how to write a good book and read a great one; the practicality of living life as a romantic optimist.

I love meeting new people, and I love coffee. So if the above didn’t do it for you, maybe someday we should get coffee. Email me at saraeileen [at] gmail [dot] com.

If this photo is too silly for you, perhaps you should read my résumé instead.
